Can I run retargeting ads on Google?
Yes. Google calls it remarketing, and it works by tagging your website so visitors are collected into what Google Ads calls "data segments", which you then target. Google Ads Help says a segment needs at least 100 active visitors in the last 30 days before it can show ads on Search, Display or YouTube.

How is it different from Meta retargeting?
| Meta | ||
|---|---|---|
| What builds the list | A tag on your site or app | Pixel, video views, Instagram and Facebook engagement |
| Website required | Yes | No |
| Where the ad appears | Search, Display, YouTube, Gmail, Discover | Facebook, Instagram, Messenger |
| Best at | Catching people who go looking again | Catching people while they scroll |
What is dynamic remarketing?
Google's help pages describe dynamic remarketing as showing previous visitors ads that contain the specific products and services they viewed on your site. For an online store that is the version worth setting up — the person sees the exact item they left behind, not a generic banner.
What are the limits I should know?
- Minimum size: at least 100 active visitors or users in the last 30 days, per Google Ads Help, before the segment can serve on Search, Display or YouTube.
- Maximum duration: 540 days. Set a longer window and people drop out at that ceiling anyway.
- You need the tag working first. No tag, no list, and lists only start filling from the day you install it — so install it before you need it.
Most businesses in Kuwait get more from Meta retargeting first, simply because that is where the audience already spends its time. The comparison is in which platform is best for retargeting, and the setup basics in what retargeting is and how to start.
