How do I run ads that open WhatsApp?

In Ads Manager, choose the Engagement objective, then pick Messaging apps and select WhatsApp, so your ad's button opens a chat instead of a website. Meta says these ads can run on both Facebook and Instagram, and you can set the first message the customer sends you.

How do I set one up?

  1. Connect your WhatsApp number to your Facebook Page.
  2. In Ads Manager, create a campaign with the Engagement objective.
  3. Under conversion location, choose Messaging apps, then tick WhatsApp.
  4. Set your audience, your daily budget and your dates.
  5. Add your image or video and your text.
  6. Write the pre-filled message, for example "Hi, I'd like the price list for…". Meta's help centre calls this the pre-filled or welcome message.
  7. Publish and wait for review.

How do I make the chats turn into sales?

  • Answer fast. The first reply matters more than the ad.
  • Set quick replies for prices, areas and delivery in WhatsApp Business.
  • Add an away message for after hours, so nobody is ignored.
  • Ask one question back ("Which area are you in?") to keep the chat moving.
  • Save the number so you can follow up later.

Why do these ads suit Kuwait?

Most buying conversations here happen in chat, not on forms. An ad that lands in WhatsApp removes the website step completely, which suits home businesses and service providers.

What should I watch?

Cost per chat started, then how many chats become orders. If chats are cheap but nobody buys, the problem is the offer or the replies, not the ad.

Quick follow-ups

  • No. The free WhatsApp Business app works. The API helps later, when a team answers chats or you want automatic replies.
