What's the difference between B2B and B2C marketing?
B2B (business-to-business) marketing sells to companies, where a few people weigh up the decision over time. B2C (business-to-consumer) marketing sells to individuals, who often decide quickly and on their own.

How is the buying decision different?
| B2B | B2C | |
|---|---|---|
| Who buys | A company, often several people | One person or a family |
| Speed | Slower, with comparing and approvals | Often quick, sometimes on impulse |
| Goal of the ad | Start a conversation, collect a lead | Get the sale or the chat now |
| Message | Savings, reliability, results | Feeling, look, convenience, price |
Which channels suit B2B?
- LinkedIn. LinkedIn's help pages say you can target by job title, company, industry and seniority, so you can reach the actual decision-makers.
- Lead forms. Meta's Business Help Centre describes instant forms that collect details without people leaving Facebook or Instagram. Its own B2B examples ask for work email, job title and company name. It also offers work email validation.
- Google Search. Google Ads Help says Search ads show when someone searches for terms related to your keywords, so you meet buyers who are already looking.
Which channels suit B2C?
Visual, fast-scrolling platforms like Instagram, TikTok and Snapchat, where a strong video or offer can turn into a purchase or a WhatsApp chat in minutes. Search still matters too, when people look for a product by name.
Does B2B need a different follow-up?
Yes. A B2B lead is the start, not the sale. Plan how fast you'll call back, what you'll send, and who follows up. For picking the platform, see which ad platform is best for lead generation, and if you're unsure what a lead even is, read what is lead generation.
