How do I make a sponsored ad on Instagram?
Switch your account to a professional account, open Professional dashboard, tap Ad tools, choose a post, then set your goal, audience, budget and duration and tap Boost post. Meta reviews the ad before it runs, and most ads are reviewed within 24 hours.

What do I need first?
- An Instagram professional account (Business or Creator). Switch in Settings → Account type and tools.
- A payment method, such as a card.
- A public post or reel that already performs well.
How do I boost a post, step by step?
- Go to your profile and tap Professional dashboard.
- Tap Ad tools, then Choose a post.
- Pick the post or reel you want to promote.
- Choose a goal (see the table below).
- Choose an audience: automatic, or your own (areas, age, interests).
- Set your daily budget and duration.
- Add payment and tap Boost post.
Tip for iPhone users: if the app shows an Apple service fee, boost from instagram.com in a browser instead. Instagram itself recommends this to avoid the fee.
Which goal should I choose?
| Your aim | Goal to pick |
|---|---|
| Orders and enquiries in chat | More messages (send to WhatsApp or DMs) |
| People to visit your store or booking page | More website visits |
| More followers who see your posts | More profile visits |
For most Kuwaiti businesses that sell by chat, More messages brings enquiries fastest.
What mistakes waste money?
- Boosting a weak post. Ads can't save it.
- Targeting "all of Kuwait" with no plan. Start with the areas and age groups that already buy from you.
- Using English only. Test Arabic and English versions.
- Stopping after one day. Give each ad a few days to learn.
- Judging by likes. Count messages and sales instead.
How many people can I reach?
Instagram ads can reach about 3.00 million people in Kuwait, or 73.3% of adults (DataReportal, Digital 2026). To size your budget, read How much should you spend on Meta ads in Kuwait?.
When should I move beyond boosting?
Once you spend monthly, use Ads Manager: sales tracking with the Meta Pixel, A/B tests and retargeting. Want experts to run it? See our Meta Ads service.
