How do I install the Snap Pixel?

Log in to Snapchat Ads Manager, open the menu, and create a pixel from the Pixels / Events Manager area. Then connect it to your site — through a partner integration such as Shopify or Google Tag Manager, or by adding the pixel code yourself.

Where do I find it?

Snapchat's Business Help Center says Events Manager is where you manage Pixel, App and Conversions API events, and it's opened from the menu in the top corner of Ads Manager. It's available to all advertisers.

What are the steps?

  1. In Ads Manager, open the menu and go to Events Manager (Pixels).
  2. Create a pixel and give it a name.
  3. Enter your website URL — Snap uses it to recommend a setup method.
  4. Choose how to install:
    • Partner integration — for example Google Tag Manager (you sign in with Google and pick your container), or Shopify via the Snapchat Ads app.
    • Pixel code — paste the code on your site yourself or via a developer.
  5. Test it with the Snap Pixel Helper Chrome extension, then check events arriving in Events Manager.

Which route suits me?

Your setup Easiest route
Shopify store Snapchat Ads app in Shopify
Already using Google Tag Manager Snap's native GTM integration
Custom site, no tag manager Pixel code on every page

For Shopify stores using the Snapchat Ads app, Snap's help pages recommend setting the pixel to "Always on".

Pixel or Conversions API?

Both, ideally. The pixel reads activity in the visitor's browser; Snap's Conversions API sends events from your server, directly or through a partner. It's the same pattern as installing the Meta Pixel, and it's what makes retargeting possible on Snap.
