What is local SEO, and does my Kuwait business need it?
Local SEO is everything that decides whether you appear when someone nearby searches for what you sell. If customers physically come to you, it's the highest-value free work available — and Google is clear that none of it can be bought.

What decides local ranking?
Google Business Profile Help names three factors:
| Factor | What it means |
|---|---|
| Relevance | "How well a Business Profile matches what someone is searching for" |
| Distance | "How far each business is from the customer who's searching" |
| Prominence | "How well-known a business is" — including review count and score |
Google also states directly that "there's no way to request or pay for a better local ranking on Google."
What can you actually control?
- Complete, accurate information — address or service area, hours, category, attributes
- Photos and videos of the real place
- Reviews, and replies to them — part of prominence
- Consistency — the same name, address and phone number everywhere you appear
- Verification — Google lists verifying your business among its recommendations
Who is eligible?
Google's guidelines say a Business Profile is for businesses that have "a physical location that customers can visit, or travels to customers where they are", with a precise address or service area, permanent signage at the address, and one profile per business.
Is it worth it for a Kuwait business?
For anything with a location — a shop, clinic, salon, restaurant, workshop — yes, and it costs nothing: Google states that "creating a Business Profile and listing your business on Google is free."
