Why do my ads get clicks but no sales?
Clicks mean the ad worked. No sales means something after the click didn't. In almost every case the ad promised one thing and the page delivered another — or the sale is happening but isn't being recorded.

What should I check first?
- Is the sale being tracked at all? An untracked sale looks identical to no sale. Confirm the pixel fires on the thank-you page — see how to track sales from ads
- Does the page match the ad? If the ad showed a specific product at a specific price, the click must land on that product, not the homepage
- Is the price visible? Hidden prices lose the exact people who were ready to buy
- How fast does the page load on mobile? Most of your traffic is on a phone, often on mobile data
- How many steps to buy? Every extra field loses people
- Are the clicks the right people? A broad audience clicks out of curiosity — see how to target Kuwait in Meta ads
How do I find out where they leave?
Compare the numbers at each step:
| Step | What a drop here means |
|---|---|
| Ad → page view | Slow page, or a broken link |
| Page view → add to cart or enquiry | The page isn't convincing |
| Cart → checkout started | Shipping or payment worries |
| Checkout → order | Payment method, or unexpected fees |
The biggest fall between two steps is your real problem. Everything else is a distraction.
Is my conversion rate actually bad?
Maybe not. Published ecommerce benchmarks cluster around 2–3%, so 98 out of 100 visitors not buying can be perfectly normal — see what a good conversion rate is. Judge by cost per sale against what a customer is worth to you, using ROAS.
