What is an agent-ready website?

An agent-ready website is one that AI agents, like ChatGPT's agent or Chrome's built-in assistant, can read, understand and use for a customer: find your prices, fill in your booking form, or start an order. It needs plain text, clearly labelled forms and, more and more, WebMCP "tools" that tell agents exactly what they can do.

How is it different from a normal website?

A normal website is built for people looking at a screen. An agent-ready website is also built for software that reads how the page is put together.

Typical site Agent-ready site
Prices Inside images Written as text
Booking Custom widget with unlabelled fields Labelled form or a WebMCP tool
Page content Appears only after JavaScript runs Already in the page when it loads
Site summary None llms.txt

What is WebMCP?

WebMCP is a new browser standard that lets a website list actions an agent can take, such as bookAppointment or checkStock, so the agent doesn't have to guess what a button does. Chrome opened a WebMCP origin trial (an early test program) in Chrome 149, announced in June 2026.

Why should a Kuwaiti business care now?

  • ChatGPT had 900 million weekly users by February 2026 (OpenAI, via TechCrunch).
  • 99% of Kuwait's population is online (DataReportal, Digital 2026).
  • A price that only appears inside an image is hard for agents to read reliably, so a competitor with text prices gets the recommendation.

What does it take?

  1. Pages that show their text without needing JavaScript to load
  2. A clear label on every form field and button
  3. Prices, opening hours and areas served written as text
  4. llms.txt, plus a robots.txt file that allows AI crawlers
  5. WebMCP tools for bookings or orders (optional, still early)

Quick follow-ups

  • Usually not. Most of the work is fixing what's already there: putting prices and hours in text, labelling form fields, and allowing AI crawlers. WebMCP tools can be added on top later.
